Triathlon Swim and Open Water Clinic with Wolfgang Guembel – Brought to you by Ontario Trysport, Nineteen Wetsuits, and NRG Performance Training
Join Wolfgang Guembel and David Bialkowski with local athlete Brent Baker for an afternoon of developing new swim skills. Clinic is most appropriate for average to avid swimmers and triathletes.
Saturday May 7 – Bracebridge
15:30 – 16:30: In Class session with Power Point slide show, Swim Smooth console, and handouts
16:30-17:00: break
17:00 – 19:00: In pool session with specific swim drills, sighting techniques, swim stroke development, and short set
Deliverables – by taking this course you can expect to:
- take away a list of drills you have now practiced to use on your own,
- have a complete slide show that summarizes the content of the presentation,
- know how to sight efficiently when swimming in open water,
- have a true understanding of what “high elbows” really means,
- come to know key elements to an efficient swim stroke,
- have new confidence for mass starts and for swimming in open water,
This course is for you if:
- you have been swimming at the same pace for multiple seasons,
- you learned to swim from a program with initials “T”.”I”,
- you use a pull buoy all the time,
- you never do kick sets and you believe that you should not kick in order to save your legs for the bike and run,
- you wear your watch and HR monitor in the pool,
- you would like to develop more confidence in open water,
- you would like to increase your swimming speed AND your swimming economy,
